Approaching enlightenment

”I wanted to return home quickly and sleep. Even in a dream would be fine to me. That girl could just as easily invade other people’s dreams subconsciously. ”

”You’re so much trouble whether or not you’re around or not, so couldn’t you at least appear now, at this critical moment. Can’t you listen to my wishes every now and then?”

”…”

”Ah…”

”What on earth…”

”I wanted to see Haruhi.”

In a moment of solitude, Kyon realizes what he really wants. His mental enlightenment is given a literal treatment. This is not a particularly original feature, but it makes me glee nonetheless. This is why I think this movie is so good. Not because of the technical beauty of the reflections or the animation quality or the lively background. But because of the artistic beauty.
